It seems every day another new VOIP service is hitting the ground running with new features. But sometimes their’s an old service that pops back up with new features that really break records. What’s funny is the fact that it’s another BetaMax service (yes another one I’ve lost count at this point). This time BetaMax’s new service named ActionVOIP brings with it amazing rates when your trying to call India to talk to family or friends.
It was impressive back when BetaMax announced Netherlands Antilles cellular for under 20 cents (which is actually cheaper than some local calls in the Netherlands Antilles). Well with the addition of ActionVOIP and it’s new India pricing it has litterally shattered the previous services that were the standard for servicing calls to India which were in the range of 1.39/c minute to 1.70/c minute that providers like Nymgo used to offer and was considered a bargain previously. Somehow through magic or some kind of miracle Betamax has managed to make calling India available to it’s ActionVOIP Customers for under a penny.
Yes you heard that right, calling India for under 0.01$ a minute. In fact it’s actually 0.7 cents a minute (0.007$). The irony for me is that at less than 1 cent a minute, this turns out to be cheaper than local calls are currently in India. Sound a bit familiar to my situation in the Netherlands Antilles? Is this where the world is headed to a VOIP provider like BetaMax/ActionVOIP providing international calls to countries for cheaper than even local call rates in the country themselves.
The fact of the matter is that 0.7 cents to a remote country is extremely low cost for any service either VOIP or Traditional phone systems. But as the world of capitalism works competition drives prices, and while in most cases many VOIP providers can’t match or don’t try to match quite what BetaMax offers when it comes to extremely low VOIP rates, the fact is we should see prices from Nymgo and other Voip Operators and Voip Providers begin to fall over the next several months if not sooner.
For many BetaMax still isn’t exactly the epitomy of a quality voip provider, but they are the one you go to when it comes to cheap prices, with a bit of time and patience the premium and high quality voip providers will adjust prices to combat the price:quality comparison as best they can. But hey if you talk to India a lot ActionVOIP is easy enough to use with a softphone and full SIP available for those of you more tech savy or hardware voip users.
