Assuming you have a reasonably fast Internet connection and a computer with a microphone and earphones, I’d use Skype. Their standard rate to phones in North America and most of Europe is 2.1 cents/minute, lower with some package plans.

each time u add a minimum value of 10 euros, you get 30 days free for north america and many european countries. after that, it’s only 0.01 euro/min. you dont hav to add money every month; u do it as much as you want.

Yahoo voice is cheaper that skype and IMO has a better qulaity service.
