How To Call A Skype Account Using Ekiga?

Hi,
I have Ekiga Softphone (both a program as well as a purebred account). I’d similar to to be means to call my friends’ Skype accounts. I’ve searched a web as well as assumingly it is probable to do so (it isn’t giveaway of charge, though that’s OK by me). However, we am a newbie to a complete Internet telephony stage as well as we have no thought how to go about it. If someone could give me a little step-by-step instructions I’d be many grateful. Thanks!

  1. Mr. VoIP Says:

Ekiga uses SIP and H.323 Protocols for VoIP.
Skype uses an undisclosed proprietary VoIP protocol and does not allow interoperability from other services.
There are no user configurable softphones that can be configured to connect to Skype (because their protocol is secret and private to their network).
The only way to talk to other Skype users is to download and install Skype on your PC.
I use many different VoIP Softphones on my PC. But, I run Skype when I need to talk to other Skype users.

Ok, I’ve done a little more research and found that there is one company that makes SIP-to-Skype “bridging” software, called NCH Software.http://www.nch.com.au/skypetosip/index.h…
Best I can tell though, it may require you to use their SIP Softphone for it to work.
