Unlike Skype, Oovoo allows we to videoconference with up to 5 alternative people. Skype usually allows we to videoconference with 1.
Skype still hasn’t worried to have this (pretty important) upgrade. If Skype doesn’t get the action together, we envision Oovoo will shortly pass it in conditions of series of users.

Well, Oovoo still doesn’t have Mac capability or Skypeout / Skypecast features. So that’s one reason.
Second, some people are reluctant to move from Skype because many of their friends are on it and they don’t want to have to go through the hassle of making the changeover.
Oovoo is still in its infancy (Beta version) so the quality of the calls isn’t quite as good as what you get on Skype.
But, Oovoo is making upgrades. They’ll soon have features similar to the SkypeIn/SkypeOut. Eventually they’ll catch up with Skype as you say, but it will take a while.
