Absolutely not. Any difference it makes to your computer’s consumption might make the difference of about 3p per week.
When I used to have a pre-payment meter and my comp is on 24/7/365, no matter what I did made any difference to the amount I was using.
Hasn’t it occured to you that you are using more electric because the time of the year and that the prices of electricity have gone through the roof?
Also with the modern meters, when you charge your key, any difference in prices, is programmed onto the key. So when you stick the key in the meter, the rates and settings for the meter are all updated.
It’s done like that so they don’t have to send blokes round anymore to keep resetting the meters every time there is a price change. Quick enough to put it up, but very slow to take it down!

Laptops don’t use massive amounts of power!
Typically, the power supply of a modern laptop will use around 80-90Watts of power, which is a bit less than a 100W light bulb! You should be able to run it for around 10 hours or so for 1 unit (KW/h) of electricity!…. Less than the running costs of a Desktop machine!
Running games or any form of VoIP software will not affect the power usage in any noticeable way!
As we move through the Winter period, we all tend to use more power on lighting (possibly heating too) and this is one possibility for the increases!
It’s worth contacting your energy supplier to see if the tarif they are charging you has changed (most have)… Unfortunately this is not always as clear to identify if you are on a prepayment meter!
    Hope this Helps!

well if u using it too much that can effect the electric bills , on average The CPU is, by far, the biggest consumer of power in a laptop. No surprise there. run a bunch of apps that peg your CPU at 100 percentmeans more electricity, & more big ur screen is more energy it takes so keep the brightness to the dim while playing in night, try to reduce that u do not run so many applications togather ….best thing reduce ur use of laptop & use desktop for gaming much cheaper ….
