Do not, do not, do not get Vonage service. I signed up for the “free” trial period with a “free” portal device. The sound quality was terrible, beyond terrible.

Watch out for termination fees!
The device worked just fine. However, audio quality of Vonage service suffered from time to time, especially when downloading files took up bandwidth.

Vonage service is fine as long as you have a cell phone that works in your house as back up. Customer service is non existent.
